Today, June 2nd, marks five years since I released my first book, In Times of Trouble. The world was definitely a different place back in 2020. We were living in the shadow of a pandemic that would not only prove to be a great challenge to us as individuals, but also as a nation. Although i have to admit that were it not for the pandemic and an excess of spare time on my hands, the book, which had been sitting in my desk drawer for a couple of years, may not have made it into your hands as quickly, if at all.
I never dreamed I’d ever actually write and publish one book, let alone three. The past five years have been a lot of work, but more that that, an incredible experience and I have you to thank for it.
That said, I think it’s time to recharge my batteries. While I do have a few ideas for short stories and op-ed type stuff, I’m going to pause and put all of that on a shelf, next to a couple of other endeavors, and take a break for the summer. This doesn’t mean I’m going to quit writing. ( Fact is, I’ll probably noodle at it here and there. ) I’m simply taking a breather from it for a little while.
I simply can’t say it enough: None of this would have happened were it not for your enthusiasm for the story, the characters, and your support. I am forever grateful for that.
I’ll chat with you again soon.
Chris
P.S. – This is also a big year for me for another reason. July 2025 marks twenty years since I first stepped on the stage with the band Kilrush Please be sure to come out and see us if you get a chance and be sure to say hi!
