Book #2 Update

The problem with having such a well received book on your first try is you’ve set the bar for the second one pretty damned high before you write the first word.

I know, Mr. Author man has had some issues… boo-hoo, right?

But seriously, writing the sequel to In Times of Trouble has been a little bit of a daunting task. The first one took me 3-4 years. This one needs to be in reader’s hands in two or less. Happily, progress continues and I’ve recently wrapped up Chapter 12. From here I expect the story to get easier since I’ve known all along how it would end. I just had to write the path to get there.

This story will be slightly different. It will explore the psychological impact of what happened to our characters in the first book. Their world is turned upside down, and those who survived have had a couple months of Winter to recuperate and reflect on what it means as well as what it means going forward.

You’ll meet some new neighbors along the way; some who were mentioned in the Christmas Eve story I released last December as well as some others.

Meanwhile, a new threat to Hammond’s Corners is right at their back door.

At this time I will go out on a limb and say the as yet unnamed sequel will be released in June 2022. But if I can get it done faster than that, and still deliver the quality I believe you the reader deserve, believe me I will.

In the meantime, if you haven’t yet left a review on Amazon or Goodreads, please do. Reviews are vital to the success of any independent author. Your review can determine if someone will pick up a copy or pass it by.

As always, I sincerely appreciate everyone’s support and interest in my writing, and would love to hear from you. Drop me a line: chris@cmsherwood.com
